The Draft Camden Advocacy Strategy is on public exhibition and you're invited to give feedback!

Camden is one of the fastest-growing local government areas (LGAs) in Australia, with its population expected to rise 81% by 2046. This rapid growth is placing increasing pressure on local infrastructure and services. Heavy reliance on cars, rising traffic congestion, limited public transport and a growing jobs deficit are already affecting our community’s quality of life.

A plan to ensure Camden's needs are heard

Advocacy is an important tool in shaping Camden’s future and addressing emerging challenges. It enables Council to help secure government investment, influence decisions that affect the region, and drive transformative infrastructure to support growth.

The draft Camden Advocacy Strategy provides a four-year framework and action plan to guide Council’s advocacy. The Strategy identifies key themes and needs, while remaining flexible to adapt as government and community priorities evolve.

The Strategy signals Council’s desire to collaborate with key stakeholders and ensures Council works towards shared objectives and strengthens relationships with decision-makers and partners. Above all, it is designed to keep Camden’s advocacy strategic, coordinated, impactful and focused on achieving positive outcomes for our growing community.

Camden Council is already actively advocating for our region’s priorities, from formal submissions and stakeholder engagement to targeted campaigns such as The Time Is Now, which have already helped secure real wins for the community.
