Thank you for your interest in the Cat Management Plan. We look forward to working with all our stakeholders to implement the actions.
Cats bring positive health and wellbeing benefits to their owners and play an important but complex role in our community.
We've prepared a new plan to support responsible cat ownership
The draft Cat Management Plan was developed to guide the responsible management of cats over the next five years. It identifies objectives and strategies to implement our vision of creating an environment that encourages responsible pet ownership, where people and cats integrate safely and harmoniously.
The plan has four overarching objectives:
- Caring for cats through responsible cat ownership;
- Providing a framework for managing semi-owned and un-owned cats;
- Improving domestic cat welfare and rehoming; and
- Protecting wildlife and reducing the impact of feral cats.
Did we get it right?
