Draft Part B Southern Neighbourhood Centre DCP Amendment
Camden Council is consulting with the community on draft amendments to the Oran Park Precinct Development Control Plan (DCP) to introduce a new site-specific Part B DCP for land referred to as the Southern Neighbourhood Centre.
Public exhibition period: 7 April 2025 until 12 May 2025.
The site is currently envisaged to support a neighbourhood centre. This amendment seeks to provide specific figures, objectives and controls which will guide the future development of the site.
The amendment introduces a new part to the Oran Park DCP which consists of site-specific figures, objectives and controls. The amendment will also remove an existing control in the DCP which limits individual retail tenancies within neighbourhood centres to a maximum gross lettable floor area of 1,500m2.
In summary, the amendment encourages the following development on the site:
- A 3,600m2 supermarket and 1,400m2 of additional commercial floor space;
- A community hall (to be owned by Council);
- An urban plaza;
- A pedestrian network; and
- At-grade car parking.
