Calling all Camden Kids aged 4-14!

To celebrate Families Week 2026, Camden Council is inviting young people to get creative and share their stories through art, short stories or poems

  • THINK

    Think about the following themes:

    • What it means to be a Camden Kid

    Or

    • Every family celebrates differently - this is ours....
  • CREATE

    Create a short story, poem (up to A4 page) or artwork in any medium based on one of the themes.

    Each child may submit one original entry

  • UPLOAD TO ENTER

    When you've finished, type your words into the entry form or upload an image of your artwork.

    Include a title or simple description of your work. Choose the theme. Add your name, age and email address.

Who can enter

  • Children aged 4 to 14 years who live in the Camden Local Government Area
  • Entries must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian
  • Only one entry per child is allowed

What can be entered

Each child can submit one original piece in one category and one theme.

Categories

  • Hand‑drawn artwork (traditional materials such as pencil, paint or crayon – one A4 page)
  • Digital artwork
  • Written work (short story or poem)

How to enter

There are two ways to enter:

1. Online

  • Submit your entry via the official competition page on Your Voice Camden
  • Complete all required fields and upload your child’s artwork or writing

2. In person

  • Deliver entries to:
    Camden Council Administration Building
    70 Central Avenue, Oran Park NSW 2570

Entries submitted by any other method will not be accepted.


Key dates

  • Opens: 9.00am, Monday 11 May 2026
  • Closes: 5.00pm, Monday 25 May 2026

Late entries will not be accepted.


Judging and prizes

  • This is a competition of skill and creativity
  • Entries will be judged by Camden Council staff
  • Three winners will each receive a prize valued at up to $50

Supply: The supply of your personal information is voluntary. If the information is not provided, Council will not be able to enter you into the Competition.

Access/correction: You have the right to access your personal information held by Council and to request the correction of any inaccurate or incomplete personal information Council holds about you. Council will consider any such application in accordance with the PPIP Act and its Privacy Management Plan.
