Oran Park Development Control Plan amendment endorsed

On 12 December 2023, Council resolved to endorse an amendment to the Oran Park Development Control Plan – for land owned by Mirvac Homes known as 499, 501, 585, 589, 591 & 593 Cobbitty Road, Cobbitty.

The amendment results in the following changes to the Oran Park DCP and Indicative Layout Plan:

  • Introduction of the Hassall Driveway heritage boulevard;
  • Removal of the linear open space park in the north-west part of the site and redistribution of the open space into two parks – (north-west and south east of the site);
  • Refinements of the riparian corridor and passive open space network;
  • Designation of land originally identified for the expansion of Macarthur Anglican School for urban development;
  • Incorporation of controls in Section 5.5 which includes cross sections to address the transition between the development, Cobbitty Road and the Metropolitan Rural Area;
  • Removal of maximum height control for the earth mound in the Denbigh Transition Area;
  • Introduction of a number changes to the water cycle management and functioning through a site specific study;
  • An amendment to the Indicative Layout Plan and Street Network Plan to make minor changes to the road network to align with recent development approvals; and
  • Introduction of new Part B6 Southern Neighbourhood Centre which introduces vision and design principles for the future centre.
