Community Facility Maintenance Review 2026

From time to time, we ask the community to complete surveys so that we can understand service satisfaction and identify opportunities for improvement.

This month, we’re reviewing Council’s Community Facility Maintenance services to find out what’s working well, what could be better, and how we can improve.

The survey focuses on facilities such as community halls, bus shelters, footbridges, and other Council-managed buildings and structures. It should take less than 10 minutes to complete. Survey closes 1pm, Wednesday 1 April 2026.

Responses are anonymous, and the information you provide will only be used to enhance Council facilities and services.

Community Facility Maintenance Survey 2026

To ensure the effectiveness of service delivery across NSW, the NSW Office of Local Government’s revised Integrated Planning Reporting Guidelines (issued September 2021) mandates that Councils are required to undertake service reviews.

Reviews will be coordinated and conducted via the Corporate Performance Team

A council service review is a formal evaluation of council services to assess their effectiveness, efficiency, and appropriateness for the community. These reviews help councils make informed decisions, align services with community needs and strategic goals, and ensure resources are used effectively. They are strategic tools for identifying inefficiencies, gaps, or areas for improvement, and they often include community engagement to understand local priorities.

Key aspects of a council service review:

Assessment: Reviews evaluate if services are meeting their intended outcomes and if current delivery methods are appropriate.
Efficiency and Effectiveness: They aim to improve how well resources are used and whether services are achieving their strategic goals.
Community Alignment: Reviews ensure services reflect community needs and expectations, and help determine the best mix of services and funding arrangements.
Strategic Tool: Beyond mere compliance, these reviews help councils respond to pressures like population growth and financial constraints.
Benchmarking: Performance may be compared against other councils or industry standards to identify opportunities for improvement.
Stakeholder Engagement: Community and stakeholder input is a vital part of the process, helping to collaboratively determine service levels.
