The program invites audiences to immerse themselves in a multi-faceted cultural extravaganza that combines live performance, inspiring art, bustling markets, and soul-stirring music. Showcasing a diverse range of live performance, mesmerising dance and talent, the program will inspire and encourage audiences to actively engage in the creative experience.

Included is a local art exhibition, which will serve as a visual feast, from thought-provoking paintings, First Nations art, to unique sculptural works and projections.

An eclectic array of boutique art stalls will beckon audiences to indulge in original treasures. From handmade original jewellery to artisanal crafts, the markets will offer a cornucopia of unique and locally made treasures to compliment the local promotions, incentives and packages offered by Camden Town Centre businesses.

Audiences will engage with passionate vendors and have the opportunity to take home an original piece while music fills the air, creating an ambience that permeates every corner. The program will provide an opportunity to enter a sensory wonderland, where live performances, captivating art, bustling markets, infectious music, and local eateries intertwine to celebrate the beauty and power of artistic expression after dark.

Yes, Expressions of Interest are accepted from local businesses, community and cultural groups, and individuals wishing to participate in the program.

Businesses are also welcome to engage with the program within their own business premises, and/or offer incentives to engage with visitors to the events and increase foot traffic to their business.

Cultural Fusion Program

Creatives, including, but not limited to, musicians, performers and artists are encouraged to submit an Expression of Interest to engage in the program.

Expressions of Interest are now open for paid performance, community showcase, art exhibition and demonstration, workshops, and market stalls.

Cultural Fusion Art Sale

As part of Camden Council's Cultural Fusion program, Fusion Art Sale and Exhibition presents an opportunity for emerging and established artists to exhibit and sell their works with no entry fee or commission.

The February exhibition is an open to small works suitable for hanging.

The exhibition will be held within Camden Library and remain on exhibition for the month of February.

There is no cost to participate or attend. We welcome the engagement of the community and anticipate that, as the program progresses, the events will extend beyond the Civic Centre venue to surrounding area and Town Centre businesses.

The program is funded through the NSW Government 2022/2023 Culture Up Late Western Sydney Program, working in partnership with Camden Council’s Cultural Activation Program Budget.

Council was awarded $129,450 excl. GST to contribute to a six-month up-late program to be delivered over six events, held once a month from September 2023 to February 2024.

Culture Up Late (Western Sydney) is an after-hours program developed to drive visitation to the various Western Sydney CBDs and increase audience engagement at eligible organisations.

The program aims to:

• continue to provide cultural night-time offerings to support the 24-hour economy, build Western Sydney’s creative capacity and resources, and position NSW as a vibrant global cultural destination;
• increase access to NSW’s cultural infrastructure following a period of significant investment in renewal and expansion;
• capitalise on the success of the previous iterations of Culture Up Late (Western Sydney) and continue to create employment opportunities for artists and workers;
• support the night-time economy by providing opportunities to experience arts and cultural activities after 5pm during the delivery period; and
• encourage cultural organisations to partner with private sector sponsors and extend their programming after hours on a regular basis, with the goal of achieving self-sustaining operating models.

The program is designed for an all-age and abilities audience to engage in an inclusive environment. Providing a diverse and welcoming experience for everyone, the event located in Camden's Town Centre will attract both local residents and visitors who are exploring the area.

Event timings accommodate various schedules, catering for different audience preferences.

The audience will encompass families, individuals and groups with different cultural backgrounds, catering to a broad range of interests and activities, making it accessible and engaging for everyone.

The events will foster inclusivity, and audiences may include individuals with varying cultural heritage, promoting cross-cultural understanding.

The events are scheduled from 5pm to 8pm with opportunity for local business offerings to be available beyond 8pm.
