Establish a clear vision for public art in the Camden LGA.
Camden Council is pleased to present the 'Public Art Strategy' for public exhibition.
Public art shapes how we perceive and interact with shared spaces. It reflects community values and histories, while sparking new stories, ideas, and experiences that educate and inspire. The Camden Public Art Strategy defines Council’s approach to developing and delivering public art, focusing on works that are purposeful, site-responsive and reflective of community values.
The purpose of the Public Art Strategy:
-
-
Align projects with community and cultural goals, balancing heritage and contemporary expression.
-
Foster opportunities for local and regional artists.
-
Advocate for resources to commission and maintain high-quality public art.
-
Engage the community through educational and participatory programs that build awareness and connection to place.
