What is this policy about?

Camden Council has developed a Draft Social Media Policy to guide how we engage with our community on social media. The policy aims to ensure our use of social media remains professional, accurate and respectful, while protecting the privacy and safety of all involved.

The purpose of this Policy is to set clear expectations for Councillors, staff and authorised users, and includes procedures for managing Council’s official platforms, handling community interaction and responding during emergencies.

This policy has been informed by the Office of Local Government’s Model Social Media Policy and aligns with Council’s broader strategic objectives to support effective, inclusive communication with our community.
