Project Updates

  • The track is open!

December 2022 | The track is complete and novice riders are already enjoying this practice space.

  • Work has commenced

19 October 2022 | The track builders were delayed on another project by poor weather but have finalised their plan for our work and were able to set up the site today!

Visitors to Springs Lake will soon be able to enjoy the bumps and jumps of a new learner friendly offroad bike skills track.

The track is being created to meet the needs and interests of our young residents who have been building their own mountain bike paths and jumps in less than ideal locations.

What's happening?

We have invited local novice and young mountain bike or BMX riders to help create a space that will help them to become more confident riders and enjoy the thrills that off-road cycling sports can offer.

Springs Lake Reserve, on the southern corner of Burrell Street, provides a suitable bushland space and slope for the proposed facility. It is also located near playground, toilet and BBQ facilities.

The tracks will fit in with the family-friendly nature of Springs Lake Reserve and will be designed so that parents and carers can enjoy it alongside their kids.

The trail may include a series of simple jumps, rollovers, rock gardens and berms to cater for beginner and intermediate riders.

Construction of the project is expected to be completed in September with the site to be opened in October 2022.
