Amended Leppington Oval (Pat Kontista) Plan
The Leppington Oval (Pat Kontista) Plan is part of the Leppington Oval Precinct Masterplan and is part of the Sports Precinct, located on the southern side of the precinct, adjoining Heath Road, Byron Road, Messenger Road and Capparis Lane.
The vision for this area is to ensure that the community and sports clubs have access to active recreation facilities where the communities of Leppington meet, move and play, and that is connected through an open space network to the wider Leppington area.
After the Leppington Oval Precinct Masterplan was adopted by Council in September 2022, the project moved into the development design phase. As a result of the site constraints and considerations, and to help ensure Council delivers an active and high-quality sporting experience, the following changes to the plan for Leppington Oval (Pat Kontista) have been made:
- Reconfiguration of the three sports fields to two and will include a synthetic turf field, one natural turf field and three turf mini fields;
- Increasing the amount of public amenity (including seating, pathways and retaining existing trees) and shared pathways; and
- The inclusion of junior cricket.
