Share your vision for the Nepean River

The Nepean River Corridor Study seeks opportunities to connect Camden and its community to the Nepean River by improving access and creating recreational areas along the length of the river in the Camden Local Government Area (LGA). As part of this work, we're looking to identify ways to best protect the river, its banks and the important native plants and animals that live in and around the river.

The objectives of the study are to:

  • Identify opportunities to facilitate public access along the banks of the Nepean River including a network of continuous recreational pathways and shared paths;
  • Identify opportunities to provide additional open spaces along the banks of the Nepean River;
  • Identify opportunities to protect the river and its banks and enhance water quality;
  • Identify opportunities to protect and enhance the biodiversity of the river and riparian areas; and
  • Identify opportunities to provide additional and improved water based recreation access points along the length of the Nepean River.

Funding for the study has been provided through the NSW Government's Metropolitan Greenspace Program. It will take up to 12 months to complete the study and this will inform plans for works and improvements along the Nepean River Corridor.
