Council listened and noted information shared during a variety of stakeholder engagement activities in 2024. The information gathered assisted in developing a Community Vision and creating the draft Camden Community Strategic Plan 2025 - 2040 plus seven supporting documents.

Council endorsed the public exhibition of these documents at the 8 April 2025 meeting

Council is committed to creating a vibrant, welcoming, and liveable community, ensuring that our infrastructure and services meet the evolving needs of our residents. With rapidly changing demographics, it’s more important than ever to ensure that planning and advocacy aligns with the community’s future needs and aspirations.

In November and December 2024, Council embarked on a comprehensive stakeholder engagement process to review and update the Community Strategic Plan and related documents.

The engagement focussed on identifying the needs of residents, businesses, service providers and government agencies on shaping Camden LGA's future.

Consistent input received were on the following themes:

1. Infrastructure & Connectivity: Public transport gaps, road maintenance, and infrastructure pressures.
2. Social & Community Challenges: Cost-of-living concerns, social issues, and limited public transport.
3. Heritage & Cultural Identity: Preserving Camden’s history and fostering a vibrant, inclusive community.
4. Governance & Transparency: Calls for better decision-making and resource allocation.
5. Economic Development: Need for job opportunities and economic resilience.
6. Housing & Urban Development: Demand for affordable housing and balanced urban growth
